Intro

There are several tourist attractions close to the Camp 1 of Mount Damavand, let's have a brief look at those popular places.

Kafar Koli historical caves

As their name says, these caves were used as a place to live for Non-Muslims in the beginning of the Islamic era over 1000 years ago.

Malek Bahman castle & Shahandasht Waterfall

Shahandasht waterfall has three waterfalls totaling about 180 meters in height. This massive and permanent waterfall is located on the south side of the Haraz River and on top of it Malek Bahman Castle is located.

Malek Bahman Castle dates back to 3000 years ago, One of the big castles of Alborz Mountains which belonged to the Paduspanid (655–1598). For nearly 1000 years, they are considered the longest dynasty in Iranian history and the longest dynasty in the world after the imperial Sun Line of Japan.

Shekl-e Shah

A rock relief commissioned by Naser al-Din Shah Qajar around 1879, showing the shah on horseback flanked by ten standing ministers. It is the latest in a tradition of large rock reliefs ordered by Iranian rulers.

Ab-e Garm (Hot Spring)

Larijan Hot Spring located at the base of Mount Damavand, It has several individual bathtubs and some public pools.
The heat in hot springs envelopes and helps soothe aching muscles, and the minerals present in the water get soaked up by the skin, and stimulate certain bodily processes.
